Ok, I don't blog. I know I don't blog. Ask my family who does blog. I think the last update on this blog was in 2008, and Ryan's which kind of became a shared blog hasn't been posted on in a year or more. Still, Christmas Eve and Christmas have driven me to share. Christmas Eve first, then today in a separate post.
Christmas Eve was a pretty typical day for me until about 4:00 in the afternoon. We watched movies, played, ate, etc. But, I guess to tell this story properly I must provide some background information...
Much against his own will, my dad recently became landlord over a few condos. Most were handled by a manager, but a few he handled himself. One of these which he handles became available just as the lease went up on the apartment our family was living in. Problem is, it was completely wrecked - a disgusting mess from the ceiling to the floor. Quite literally too.
We began demolishing what could not be saved and clearing out what shouldn't be. "We" being, of course, my dad, my husband and my brother-in-law with one or two days of work put in by myself :). Both Ryan and my dad worked full-time-plus jobs and then would put in time at the condo half or more or the days each week. Bathrooms were re-tiled, rotting walls were repaired, new appliances were found and installed (thanks Ken!), new carpet and cabinetry was installed, walls, fans, ceilings, floors and every other imaginable surface were vacuumed, wiped, swept, moped and then painted - all by by loving family.
Their aim was to have it done by Christmas...
Thanks dad <3
Merry Christmas!
